Our Google Sheets add-on is free to install and free to run on our free plan, with OPTIONCHAIN and OPTIONDATA formulas returning options chains and greeks in a cell, something Wisesheets’ Pro tier does not do at all. A cell Sheets evaluates again with the same inputs has cost no credits since April 2026. The gap is scripting: our API accepts one IP address at a time, so only the Sheets add-on refreshes safely from a rotating-IP environment like Google Apps Script. A user hit that limit in September 2026, trialed Massive the same afternoon, and cancelled within the hour. We also have no dividend data or financial statements, which is Wisesheets’ strength, not ours.

Is there a wisesheets alternative for Excel too?
Yes. Wisesheets ships an Excel add-in at the same $5 and $10 prices as its Sheets add-on, and MarketXLS, Sheets Finance and EODHD all run in Excel as well. Our Excel stock data ranking covers all of them; we rank last there today, because our Excel add-in has not shipped.
Why does our API accept one IP address at a time?
The exchanges treat a data product as controlled when the vendor can show that one customer device at a time reads the data and none of it is passed on. That status is what keeps our real-time prices low, so each account accepts one IP address and no serverless functions.
The rule has a cost, and we have watched it. In September 2026 a customer calling our API from Google Apps Script, whose outbound IP addresses rotate, hit the limit. We explained why and pointed him to our Sheets add-on, which refreshes safely. Thirty-three minutes later he wrote that Massive allowed his setup, and asked us to cancel.
What does a price mismatch with GOOGLEFINANCE usually mean?
In our support history, a different listing or a different adjustment, not bad data. In September 2025 a Sheets user reported a symbol more than 10% away from GOOGLEFINANCE, stamped 17:30 instead of the 4 p.m. close.
GOOGLEFINANCE was returning a Stockholm listing with the same ticker, and the customer confirmed it. His second symbol differed because we had adjusted its history for a January 2025 spin-off and the free source had not. Our STOCKDATA formula takes an unadjusted option when you want prices as traded.
Does Wisesheets sell more than a Sheets add-on?
Yes. A separate Stock API starts at $15.01 a month, priced apart from the Pro and Elite spreadsheet tiers, for a developer who wants the same fundamentals data without a spreadsheet in front of it. That is a different buyer from the one comparing add-ons on this page, and it is worth knowing before you assume “Wisesheets” means one product.
